Aptly named after the protagonist of the George Orwell novel 1984, Winston Smith is one of Denver's most promising young bands. Dubbed as "an energetic form of rock and roll," Winston Smith has quickly scaled their way through the customary novice routine to land weekend gigs at some of Denver's most prominent rock clubs such as Herman's Hideaway and Cricket on the Hill. Winston Smith has also been on the bill with national acts such as Reel Big Fish.
Drawing from musical influences such as the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Pavement, and Sublime, combined with their talent and spontaneity, Winston Smith provides a sound that is original, yet memorable and pleasing to the ear. With canny pop songwriting and infectious hooks, Ryan Countryman, Gabe Claeson, Sean Bennett, and Bill Danio are sure to continue to grow and conquer the music scene.
